Absolutely not possible bro, even if you take an average of 10 rupees per channel it's 550 already and then you need to pay NCF for 55*2=110 channels and also for 26 DD FTA channels. This means you will have to pay 3 slabs of NCF = 153+23+23=199. So total is 550+199=749. Remember, this calculation is if we take an average of 10 rupees per channel!!
:sad::sad: This is too much !!!! Even being TS user it's too costly.

I can feel the pain of ADTV users. It seems illiterates are working in TRAI.

Apparently yes.. looks like it but we have to see how many people will take it. Even if they make promotional offer early on ,4500₹ is the security amount to take connection not many can afford that and it will not be available everywhere in India. Jio sim was cheap and available everywhere. Broadband is still considered a high class thing today
It will be interesting to see if TRAI implements this new tariff for IPTV(s) as well.

I don't know why TS is asking for preferential treatment. All these ads that are being run by various networks are not going to be 100% effective unless TS stops repeatedly delaying the TRAI implementation.

Sir at least when you pay for internet there are multiple ways you can download/stream the movies/shows and you don't really need Netflix too. So you're getting your money's worth. With NCF there are no benefits. Everyone is ending up paying more than what they're already. And unlike internet, you can't watch anything you like with NCF.

You can only watch Netflix shows on Netflix.com there are no other ways. it's same for all other paid apps.

Just like you said when we pay for internet we can watch free videos on YouTube similarly trai has given us options to choose free 100 chs. You can choose fta movie/shows chs on those 100 chs

Broadband cost is not similar to NCF in any way. We have multiple uses for broadband not just video streaming. Other than watching tv channels what is the use of NCF? We are watching tv channels now without any NCF, specially on DD free dish. Also almost everyone pays for high speed internet.

Broadband is for video streaming or not that's a debatable questions as according to multiple reports majority of internet usage worldwide is for p**nography video streaming and then comes Netflix and YouTube traffic wise.

Sir, Netflix also has content from other networks too. Netflix originals don't actually make up a whole lot of Netflix. They have shows from Fox, CBS, BBC, channel 4 and many more. All these are popular networks.
Coming to the second point. You still cannot defend NCF. Again, why are we paying 130+GST for 100fta channels? Arent they meant to be free? Even if we have to pay a fee then why so much? In rural areas MSOs were providing 300-400chs for 150-200 including taxes. Now all of a suddenly for the same price all you can get is fta channels. You can't defend that. Many say rural users only watch fta and that's again subjective and cannot be taken as a fact. Why not entirely scrap NCF for 100 and make carriage fee for each channel? That way it makes way more sense imo.
By getting broadband you not only get YouTube for free but whole lot of other sites which i won't mention for absolutely free. Infact the shows on Star, Zee, Colors etc can be watched on OTT itself with less ads and they can be casted on TV too. Still there are many other streaming apps where you can even watch premium content for free(legal or not) without needing paid services like Netflix.
Internet is the present and future and very soon people will completely cut the cord and move on. Just wait and watch.

I am not TRAI lawyer and i don't get a single paisa from govt by defending the order so I am not defending anything. I am saying what TRAI officials said in various interviews.

Everything you said is true but point is we are paying twice to get those Netflix(paid content) shows already. First to ISP and then again to Netflix. In new TV regime we are also going similar way. We will pay to Star to get paid content and we will pay to DPO just like ISP.

Now regarding FTA chs to be free, if you check website of DPO then you will see all DPO charges for FTA also in current regime. For example in TS all DD chs are priced at Rs5 currently. So DPO are charging this Rs 5 as NCF/distibution fee in current regime though it is FTA.

Again true that we not only get Youtube but also get other free streaming apps like voot and we choose what apps we will see. Similarly we are free to choose which FTA chs we will choose out of 600 FTA chs we have in new regime.

I am not sure what kind of cord cutting you are talking about because even 10G wireless internet cannnot handle 25 crore househld video steaming pressure so let along 4G/5G. You need fiber internet so again wire. So dream of cord cutting will never become true
