Discussion Satellite rights of Hindi movies

I remember that time, most of star network hindi movie aired dubbed south indian movies all day and i used to complaint regarding this thru twitter... All tweets still on my timeline. I continuously requested them that air more older bollywood films from 80's to mid 2000's and even bring in classics and it will surely increase ratings....slowly things started improving and after disney took over now things r just fabulous....i meam there is not a single week when many older films are not getting acquired and ratings have jumped up
Same thing i had been requesting Sony for long but not observed any improvement...people think that i criticise them unnecessarily without knowing that i really want them to do well. I can watch all films on YouTube or OTT but when i send feedback to channels it is to help larger audience who does not have access to internet or OTT and TV serves as biggest entertainment source.
Just to mention Zee has been okayish as far as implementation of feedback is concerned but done lot better than Sony

Remember the days when star gold used to telecast English dubbed movies in Hindi on every Saturday & Sunday, Many classic movies like face of, broken arrrow were telecasted , even chinese movies collections were awesome, I want that star gold of early 2000's back

Send feedback to them on Twitter and tag @starindia too, most probably within few months u will see these films on their channels

Salman Khan - Star India partnership gave excellent results but same with zee has been dull affair, quite likely SKF will b back on star/disney . Rajiv Rai films might shift to Sony. Hope star/disney also acquires Sahara One Motion pics library so that Darna Mana Hai, Page 3, Gayab, Dil Mange More etc get propet telecast. ABCD2, Dilwale (new) shifting out very soon from sony

Also with mega exit of YRF from sony, i would not b surprised if Rajshri, Excel or Mukta Arts films r also bagged by star/disney or viacom18. Sony needs to have 1 or 2 big banners back onboard for long term apart from library company films

Another thing I m quite loving is that Free To Air movie channels are airing nice older films while popular ones new ones or most of other older ones find space of pay channels. FTA channels have smaller budget but doing great job... mix of average and iconic films getting aired... Ones like Don, Jamai Raja, Ghayal, Damini, Yodha etc r acquired only if pay channels let them free while smaller films get acquired easily. But to add to this i do not like pay channels acquiring films which have aired numerous times of FTA chs and lost repeat value... Sony, Zee doing this quite a lot...only lesser aired FTA ch films like Josh or Yess Boss can add value to pay channels library but these get ignored.

Will Dostana and Krrish also shift from Sony...both were distributed by YRF when released but have Dharma and Filmkraft as producers. Mujhse Shaadi Karogi might arrive on star/disney or viacom18. Munnabhai MBBS getting repeated quite often so it also expected to shift, sequel might shift later on expiry of term agreement. Sony has lost max films and gained less, zee has gained few and lost some but star/disney r simply blazing superfast in bollywood films acquisition. Colors Cineplex Bollywood turning out to b excellent bollywood channel, lot better than Zee Bollywood and should have HD feed too

Zee has films like Guru, Lakshya, Maachis, Dil Se, Yuva, Bose - The Forgotten Hero (shared with sony as Sahar One pics release) , Gold, Gadar, Gandhi My Father, Black and White
Sony has Hindustani, Mission Kashmir, Prahaar, Lage Raho Munnabhai, Sarabjit, Soorma,
Star/disney has Border, LOC Kargil, Rang De Basanti, The Hero, Nayak, Dev, Baby, Mission Mangal, Refugee, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag , Shool

Horror Films are meant for Night Viewing. Sony doing good job Darna series
