Star/disney had it since many yrs, last yr viacom18 too acquired rights and movie was shared between the two. Now maybe Eagle signed similar pact with zee

It's other way around. Viacom18 first acquired rights and then sold it to star india keeping only select airing for themselves. This was 7 yr deal which means star renewed most of these films. Anyways earlier star and viacom18 were close partners b it here or in sports broadcast or digital space... I think this will end shortly now that they r fierce rivals. There was another deal b/w erstwhile UTV/Disney and Viacom18 where UTV Movies got to air select airings of many Viacom18 films alongwith dubbed south indian movies which is still continuing and u can see these films exclusively on UTV Movies, this too likely to end shortly.

I feel Khatta Meetha (new) rights r now with Eagle Entertainment and they r sharing it with broadcasters
