(They are still showing old logo of Star Gold in new posters when the channel's logo has been changed)

Yes the merger is going to benefit Sony a lot in terms of movies' rights. Both the networks will share movies and Sony can get the movies back which are renewed by Zee. Apart from big hits, Sony also holds broadcasting rights for movies such as Dybbuk and Chhorii.

Also, some movies whose rights are owned by Zee were aired on Sony Max 2 when the discussion about Zee-Sony merger started.
