Discussion Satellite rights of Hindi movies

Dharam Kanta and other Daaku movies are soon going to CCB that's for sure. Nastik is produced by Doshi Films whose rights are now divided between Disney-Star and Viacom18
Vinod Doshi Films are with Viacom18 which include Nastik, Deewar Let's Bring Our Heroes Home, Aankhen
Vasant Doshi Films are with Disney-Star which include Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani, Daulat, Bhabhi (soon on Disney-Star) etc

Bro ghar ghar ki kahani aired in star Utsav movies last month after that the movie didn't aired in any star channels.

Buddy Netflix and Amazon Prime Video Original r not films made by them, just that these films got direct OTT release. Sony Max , Viacom18 and Zee have all of these as they were made by producers which had agreement with these 2 broadcasters

There is a reason that Haseen Dillruba and Dhamaka are Netflix originals but Sooryavanshi and Mimi are not. The first two films have the tudum sound at the beginning because Netflix was actively involved in the production process. The other two only have a distribution deal with Netflix and they could just as well have gone to Amazon or Zee5 instead. This is an important distinction to consider.

If we are talking only about films that are direct OTT releases, even then, not all of them are Netflix or Amazon originals. Mimi is certainly not a Netflix original as JioCinema is the second output partner.

Though yes, come to think of it, actually The Sky is Pink is not a Netflix original per se, as it does not have the tudum. But since it has no satellite partner, I had to lump it along with the Netflix original productions. Similarly, just because Newton/October/SMZS do not have satellite partners does not make them Amazon original productions, but it is much more convenient if they are treated as such.

Yes, as i said.... There r 5 categories
-Films directly releasing on ott and distributed by same ott platform on digital front, they r labelled originals
-Films having direct ott release but distributed by some other company or producer, they r not labelled original
-Films releasing in theatre and then on ott are again not in category of originals
-Films releasing in theatres , then remaining exclusive on ott r also not originals
-Films where ott platforms r involved as producers r under category of originals

It aired once on UTV Movies on sunday at 8 PM and it was also aired yesterday at 7 PM On Star Utsav Movies

This movie has premiered around 10 times since premiere on Star Utsav Movies back in end of oct.... Infact yesterday too it aired on Star Utsav Movies
