The number of bollywood movies increases on Saturday, Sundays and even some times on Fridays as well where more trp is expected. And they show normally 3 bollywood movies in a day. One at midnight, one in morning and one at afternoon slot.
Actually 2.0 is the highest grosser (it's hindi version too collected more than Sanju)
Around the same time (early 2016), The Kapil Sharma Show started. Since then Sony TV has been heavily reliant on TKSS and that is one reason why it stopped showing movies, the other being the launch of Max HD.
Maybe Sony trying to separate GEC and movies content and gain trp in both segments. And yes the Kapil Sharma show is one of the biggest reasons

Maybe I'm off topic, but I have to point this out since there has been a post in the thread that Zee undermines biggest blockbusters like dangal in Hindi by airing it on odd slots. It's actually doing the same with 2.0 in Tamil. The movie's premiere gained a slot in top5 shows of barc, which was unprecedented; it became the first non sun tv movie airing to do so. But Zee Tamil plays it during all occasions. On every holiday you will find it on either zee Thirai or Zee Tamil. Since lockdown, the movie is aired on weekday morning slots too. It's viewership has also decreased now.
Yup 2.0 one more Movie which is Completely been Underutilised, I guess & Pictures is the Major Problem because Earlier there used To be Complete Different Movies On & Pictures HD and SD but Now They are airing Same Movies Due To which This Problem has Arised, even this is applicable To Kesari, Gully Boy and i Guess Saaho Might Come Soon into Effect
