New Delhi: Leading TV actress Gurdeep Kohli Punj who is best remembered as Dr. Juhi Singh of ‘Sanjivani-A medical boon’ is all set to make a comeback on small screen. If reports are to be believed, the actress will be seen in Zee TV’s forthcoming show ‘Sethji’.

Gurdeep, who was last seen in Star Plus’ ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ will play the titular role. The actress has confirmed the reports however she denied to share any details about her character.

Leading entertainment portal Tellychakkar quoted a reliable source saying, “Offshore Productions’ Sethji will revolve around a village of Maharashtra which is lead by Sethji. She is a strong lady who would lead the village, and the villagers would strictly follow the rules made by her.

Zee TV to launch new fiction show ‘Sethji’ on 17 Apr

Hindi GEC Zee TV is all set to air its new prime-time drama ‘Sethji’ from 17 April at 7 pm. The show will replace the channel’s existing show ‘Kala Teeka’. The show will see the return of the popular TV actress Gurdeep Kohli in the title role of Sethji. Debutant Avinash Kumar will play Bajirao, the son of Sethji who falls in love with a city girl named Pragati, played by Rumman Ahmed.

After a run of just three months, ZEE TV is set to axe ‘Sethji’ in August.

The channel, which is leaving no stone unturned to maintain its current leading position, will be trashing the underperforming shows. ‘Sethji’ is rumoured to be one of them, with reports saying that the show could be ending within the next couple of weeks.

It was launched with much fanfare, which saw the return of Gurdeep Kohli back on to the small screen but it has remained on the lower side of ratings.
