@Jithin91
Price difference isn't big for ARP & also lots of Services available in TS when compared to Airtel although not sure whether it'll be useful to a South Customer.

Number of HD Channels at present stage still none beaten TS and definitely Airtel doesn't looks like beating TS.So comparing Airtel & TS TS is the best.

But dont forget other options available in the form of Sun Direct & D2H both are pretty good for South Customers while Dish TV isn't more south oriented.

From South Customer Perspective I would say if you like sun network more then blindly you can choose SD provided all your favourite Malayalam channels available because in future within a year they will give a tough competition to TS on HD Channels count and also PQ is better than TS in SD.And SD has free PVR feature while TS doesn't support Recording.

Videocon haven't used but lots of mixed reviews about quality of hardware but South Channels given preference and I think they are the 2nd DTH to add Surya HD & other 2 Sun South HD after Sun DTH.After Merger Videocon DTH might be in a entirely different level.

So it's wise to evaluate all these options, in my perspective TS will come after SD & other options.

Bro, anything can happen in one year.
*DTH regulations
*DTH portability
*New player
*Dishtv-Videocon merger
May be lots more.
So it's always risky to go for a long term commitment.
Even if there's nothing , TS itself provide time to time special offers. If alert, after one year, a monthly customer will find himself spending lower than an annual customer.
The annual pack is for them, who want it simple, headache (not so much) free.
Now plz stop it bro we are listening all these stuff from many months and I also thinks the same while subscribing to my Tata Sky 10+2 pack and result was that it was month November and soon after 7 month new November will came. And just explain me how monthly payment has less spend then yearly? I didn't got you??

@Jithin91 bro regarding your calculation of 7180 for 13 months with monthly pay, would like you to consider below.

Base pack makes it 290*12=3480.
And HDAF, I would say consider 99 for 6 months and 175 for 6 months = 99*6+175*6 = 1644
Total for monthly packs for an year would be 3480+1644=5124 and considering if you make use of various recharge offers given by various sites at an average of 15% discount it comes to 4355.
And you can buy new connection for close to 1300 ~ 1400 online and let's make it 1350 + 4355 = 5705 for 13 months :)

Ya as airtel is selling it's DTH stakes to beat Jio so it's quite believable that Airtel will spend more in Telecom sector as compared to DTH one.

Bro a ADTV customer will never compromise in PQ and I think TS has good quality as compared to SD isn't it? And, soon HEVC box will be available with recording features.
Ya but SD has all south channels and how it's now working from day when started giving unavailable HD channels surprise we all know now all new south channels will be available on it but it's an SUN oriented DTH so it can't digest the loss in TRP so they sometime suddenly stop the competitors channel.

I used SD it's PQ according to me better than all other DTH.

TS in our forum itself I have seen users complaining PQ of some Channel
looks like a animation print very recently.
And also I myself compared PQ on Large Showrooms & found many times TS lags behind in PQ comparison to other DTH.

PVR facility in SD is incomparable to any other DTH it's free we can watch one channel & record another Channel.I badly missed that in Airtel.

In my view it's healthy choice.

Now let me think again for ARP..
This was a nice calculation.

b/w can we take the 99 HDAF only for 6 months.. or else for 12 months itself.
99 & 175 HDAF aren't the same.
Isn't 99 HDAF a discounted version of 175

Point to be noted but it may be ur observation it was mine actually one of our renter have SunDirect HD that's why I know.

So after keeping in mind all the relevant points what are the observation extract coming? Moving towards TS is better choice or there are any other option opens?

Bro not every time we may get HDAF @99 so just took an average of 6 months. So it depends, I have been using TS from past 9 months and got it @99 for 7 months and one month I got it @₹1 as part of Jingalala Saturday offer and one month I got it for free with new connection.
99 and 175 packs are same, you can get 175 pack for 99 following a simple trick.
