They r in loss bcoz of Sports Rights Investment Cost being high and same not yielding desired returns otherwise both TV and OTT business of Disney-Star is growing and profitable....both subscription and ad revenues r up compared to last fiscal/year even though same is not the case for many other broadcasters......please atleast understand the details of their financial report card before making such statements
They are facing difficulty for earn subscription revenue after Jio's disruption with free OTT. Broadcasters should know to get revenue from subscription and ad revenues are equal mode, otherwise they can face losses.

Yes buddy, in certain cases both subscription + ad revenue is needed and its ratio varies depending on requirement but Freemium business model also works well incase of most OTT platforms or even linear TV Channels just that proper customization in doing so for each genre/medium is required to reach out to wider audience and get positive outcome
 
Sony Pictures Networks India on Thursday withdrew the merger application it had filed with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) for the merger of its business with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL), sources aware of the development told Moneycontrol.
 
Zee Entertainment incurred Rs 432 crore in merger-related costs during 2023-24 and 2022-23 on its failed merger deal with Sony Group Corporation's India media unit, Culver Max Entertainment, showed regulatory filings.
