After a good start, season 5 of Bigg Boss has not been able to maintain the momentum in the second week. As a result, Colors has lost a big chunk of GRPs in the 42nd week of TAM 2011. The channel has lost the No. 2 spot in a week which it had gained from Sony Entertainment Television (SET) in the opening week of Bigg Boss 5. The show garnered an average of 1.8 TVR in the second week compared with 2.1 in the launch week.
The top 5 programmes for Week 42 (Oct 9-15) are Saathiya (5.6 TVR), KBC (5 TVR), Balika Badhu (4.1 TVR), CID (3.9 TVR), and Crime Patrol (3.8 TVR).
India’s No. 1 Hindi general entertainment channel Star Plus has not been able to hold its viewers this week, losing 12 GRPs. The world television premiere of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has delivered only 1.6 TVR. The channel has recorded 292 GRPs (last week 304).
SET has regained the No. 2 position within a week. While the dream run of KBC continues, two crime shows, CID and Crime Patrol, have helped the channel add more GRPs in Week 42. Both CID and Crime Patrol have appeared among the top 5 programmes for the week while Bade Achche Lagte Hain has not been able to make it to the top 5 list. Sony has recorded 257 GRPs (last week 248).
Colors has lost 37 GRPs and come down to the No. 3 spot in Week 42. It has recorded 218 GRPs this week (last week 255).
As No. 4, Zee TV continues with a decline in its GRPs. The channel has recorded 139 GRPs this week (last week 142).
SAB TV has recorded 123 GRPs in Week 42 (last week 121).
At No. 6, Imagine TV has also lost a few points to record 64 GRPs this week (last week 66).
Star One has registered 34 GRPs (last week 33). Sahara One is the last in the league with 30 GRPs in week 42 (last week 34).
