Viacom18, today, announced that it has acquired the broadcast and digital rights for Italian Serie A for the Indian sub-continent region for the next 3 seasons. The latest edition of Italian Serie A will kick off on Saturday, 21st August at 10 PM IST. Matches will be available live across Voot, Viacom18’s TV channels and Jio.

My goodness, I am becoming a fan of Viacom rapidly just like PSG. Need a separate thread for this news I guess.
 
This Year has been somewhat better for Football Fans in India, as We saw The Return Of Football Leagues And Tournaments returning to Indian TV such as LA Liga, Bundesliga and Copa America, and now Serie A also renewed by Viacom. Now the Only league left is French Ligue 1. Though TV5 monde will telecast one match per week, hoping that atleast it gets a digital partner such as Amazon prime or else TV5 monde should try to telecast maximum Psg matches for the season. Or if Viacom gets that also then it will be even more better :tup:

In such a short span, Viacom18 has got the rights of La Liga and Serie A as well as Carabao Cup and Abu Dhabi T10 League. Earlier this month Ambani wanted to enter the sports broadcasting business. Viacom18 cannot keep showing sports on MTV, VH1 and Colors Infinity. Sooner or later we hope to see some dedicated sports channels from them. :cheers: :cheers:

They definitely should launch Sports channels (especially HD) and place in Sports channels section of DTHs.
Since most of their live contents (La Liga, Serie A. EFL Championship) are in more or less same time slots, they should launch at least 4 channels - 2 SD + 4 HD.
They can even make a decision to go with only HD channels for Sports.
Carabao Cup (EFL Cup) and EFL Championship rights were with them already since 2+ years.
