Don't compare Viacom18 with NEO, NEO was financially not so strong but we all know who owns Viacom18 and what's their strategy, they acquire so much sporting events rights other than Cricket where NEO lacks. I just hope that Viacom18 acquire F1 and WSBK rights. F1 already have huge fan base in India where as WSBK is more interesting than MotoGP nowadays. But Viacom18 is waisting their money with NBA which is not so much popular among Indian audience and also it's timing is not suitable.

NBA is very popular in India and even organisation running it undertakes various initiatives alongwith host broadcaster to increase connect with fans and expand the popularity of the game in India.

Viacom18 is building a strong sports portfolio, they r lacking as far as TV broadcast rights of cricket is concerned but surely in near future they will try to acquire more rights to fill the void.

These days many companies buy sports rights and then sell it to broadcasters for long term or on individual series basis. Fancode has become a very popular Sports OTT platform and they seem to also be having tie ups with various broadcasters wherien they sell TV rights of certain key sporting properties and even there is some kind of exchange agreement wherein they give broadcasters right to air some sports events while broadcasters lends out to them right to stream certain sports events on Fancode platform . So this indeed is good for all stakeholders as platforms/broadcasters get cost effective way to share and air these sporting properties while viewers are able to watch them on both OTT and TV

If sports 18 really to compete with indian sports broadcasters , then they should have gone for NZ / WI / Ban rights, which india toured recently.
They could have acquired it at lesser price, as no competition there and filled their slots with more cricket matches and should have compete now with sony .

To compete with Star, they can wait for BCCI rights, which coming in next 6 months, at that time they can fight with star and get the rights. So that Sports 18 will have bunch of cricket rights and could have bring more fans in their side. But they didn't go for any bids, sadly went for SA rights , that too because of SA20 competition which similar to IPL (sports 18 believed it so).

BCCI, PCB, UFC, WWE Media Rights tender too out in coming months and ACC Asia Cup Media Rights depends on current broadcaster if they have first right to refusal in agreement. Currently India not tour Pakistan, still their Media Rights have good demand they have huge matches footage library of which India plays against Pak before 2008, 2000s, 90s.

also except BCCI Media Rights, all other upcoming Media Rights are Broadcasters directly negotiating with their Board and Media Rights holder.

First , let's see indian broadcaster bid for SL/PAK/WI/NZ rights.
Last time, none bid for these rights, last minute, Sony get the rights for lesser price.
Now also, i don't have any hope with viacom, they had lot of opportunity like india tour of bangladesh, zim cricket, NZ rights etc, none they bid for the rights, Viacom waiting for BCCI rights, if they didn't get it, they will close their 90% of sports channels. Viacom is newer version of NEO sports
Nz Amazon exclusive and Windies Rights with Fancode. maybe Amazon can withdraw Nz if their Board interested sale again Media Rights, but Fancode never they have huge opportunity they will Recover from fantasy gaming D11 app.

Tv Rights Not... It's not telecast any of the TV Channels in India
Both TV and Digital rights rest with Amazon, now it's their choice whether to syndicate them to a TV channel or allow a blackout on TV
