Thing is unlike Sony they don't really seem to care about subscription revenue. They still don't have a sports dedicated bouquet. They bank on their GECs to carry the sports channel on their bouquet. Very minority of audience specially non premium ones goes for ala-cartè options.
Sony need big property like IPL or BCCI, these property can decrease channels/bouquet price which can attract large number of audience, also boost other sports/events viewership. still we can see WWE much more popular in India with Premium ad airing sometimes, same ads won't see even on ECB, SLC or PCB matches.

All ECB, SLC and PCB rights have potential. So does rights of UEFA and UFC. Just because you don't watch these events doesn't mean it's not popular. These attracts massive subscribers to both Sony's linear channel and Sony Liv.

Sony do not care about ipl or bcci or some properties with have same insane rights value.
They will only acquire if they can make profits from it. They never buy any rights for customer acquisition like star.
So they are not in race to get bcci rights. It is star who will get it

Every Indian Broadcaster here there for Subscriber acquisition only from airing Sports/events properties. if they're never buy Subscriber or they're not in race to get BCCI Rights, then they never sustain in Indian market and slowly becomes 1sports 2.0.

Just they need branded calculator for calculations or something like fire CRO from their company.

These properties attracts audience without burning hole on broadcasters pockets.
Yeah absolutely acquired these properties, broadcaster blackout most of matches without burning hole on broadcasters pockets.

They do that out of 9 out of 10 content. On top of that they have commitments to likes of WWE and UFC. They are kind of like partner when it comes to promoting upcoming shows. Unlike highlights network simulcasting matches on multiple channels while blacking out live content.

I don't see their any commitments on Live On Air events ECBs English T20, SLCs Sri lanka and Sri lanka A all these matches blackouts for WWE highlights and Roland Garros airing on remaining channels.
