MUMBAI: The game of dice and Draupadi’s ‘cheer-haran’ in its epic show ‘Mahabharat’ have helped Star Plus, the foremost Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC), to further widen the gap with its peers. Star Plus added 46 million GVMs (gross television viewership in millions) in the week ended 12 April. Zee TV, which also added 38 million GVMs, is back at No. 2. In the previous week, the channel had slipped to No. 3 after losing 35 million. As per TAM data for Hindi-speaking markets (sourced from subscribers), Colors bounced back to the No. 3 position.
Here is how the Hindi GECs performed:
Star Plus sits on top with 748 million GVMs, up from 702 million in the trailing week.
Zee TV is No. 2 with 464 million, up from 426 million.
Colors is at No. 3 with 451 million, down from 454 million.
Life OK is at No. 4 with 376 million, down from 385 million.
SAB holds the fifth spot with 314 million, up from 299 million.
SET is No. 6 with 308 million, down from 312 million.
Sahara One is at the bottom of the ladder with 24 million, down from 30 million.
