The best thing to do that would be beneficial for all sports would be to have a sports channel network, not dedicate a channel towards one sport but have channels that can show any sport. Some examples are the SuperSport channels, the SkySports channels, and the Al Jazeera Sports channels. These channels are not known by the sports they show; they are named numerically. For e.g, SuperSport 1,2,3. This is an advantage because any sport can be shown on any channel whenever required. It looks very bad when football is being shown on Star CRICKET. It was necessary for them to do this because there were a lot of important Barclays Premier League to be shown at a certain time. So it would look a lot better if channels were named numerically, any sport could be shown whenever required. Thus I believe that the STAR Network should be rebranded:
Star Sports
Star Sports 2
Star Sports 3 (formerly ESPN)
Star Sports 4 (formerly Star Cricket)
If they do this they will have a lot of different options when it comes to which sport they can show. Their subscriber base will also grow because people know they can show any given sport on any given channel at any given time. This will force them to subscribe to all the available channels to catch their favorite sports.
