What are the non performing channels which will Possible to close???

There are rumors that Star Sports 1 2 will stop airing from Oct 2
FOX Branded Channels and STAR Sports EastAsia are scheduled already for stop airing on OCT1. But some roumours are spreading out that Star Sports India is also included in the Same list.

Under Disney's regime this would be the only way forward. They have so many channels just to show IPL Highlights all day. Only the Select Channels offer some variety in terms of content. So I guess 2 regular Star Sports Channels (including1 primarily for hindi feed), 1 Regional Language Channel (with audio feeds for all non hindi languages) and 2 Select Channels would be sufficient with the kind of rights they have at this point of time.
Only 2 Channels are needed to Show Sports Content in STAR Sports Network according to their Content. But they are doing a biggest blunder by launching seperate channels in all regional language instead of audio feed.

Hyderabad: In a major announcement, Walt Disney CEO Bob Chapek declared that they will shut down 100 cable channels in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong by this year and will shift the focus to Disney+, as their Direct to Consumer story is gaining momentum. The company had closed 30 channels last year.

Indian scenario

He acknowledged that it required a vastly different approach for Disney in India. “We have an unparalleled collection of entertainment and sports in our Hotstar offering, something we’re really proud of. But India is really a unique market because we have particularly what I’ll call mass-market pricing and distribution,”he said as quoted at the conference.

He is indirectly saying that the TV-viewing population in India which doesn’t use OTT is too much for Disney to shut down Indian TV channels. He intentionally didn’t want to specify outright that Disney will or will not shut down any Indian TV channels. But it’s clear that the Indian population which views only TV and not OTT is large enough for Disney-Star not to shut down any TV channels.

If it sounds confusing, the moral of the story is that Disney-Star is NOT likely to shut down any TV channels in India as of now.
