Are udaya news and gemini news big failures ?

Not exactly failures, but they never got the numbers. Though they had no competitors when they were started, they failed to utilize the pioneer advantage. Now that news channels have started erupting like mushrooms, they faced the heat and are forced to shut down as they had extremely low viewership.

As per the trademark database, Sun Bangla and Sun Marathi have the following logos:

Now it is unsure that what would the Udaya News and Gemini News will be converted to.

Probabilities are as follows:

1. Highly Probable: Convert them to Udaya Life and Surya Life to complete the Sun SD GEC Cluster (TV, Movies, Music, Comedy, Life) in all four south languages.

2. Highly Probable: Convert them to Udaya Movies HD and Surya Movies HD as they are much needed and also Sun has a very huge library of old to latest movies that can be flawlessly telecasted in HD. This will also strengthen its HD presence.

3. Somewhat Probable: Convert them to Udaya Movies HD and Udaya Music HD to complete their Kannada HD Cluster matching Tamil and Telugu counterparts.

4. Less Probable: Convert them to Adithya HD and Sun News HD to complete their Tamil HD cluster with all SD channels having HD counterparts.

5. Less Probable: Convert them to and Adithya HD and Gemini Comedy HD to complete their Telugu and Tamil GEC Cluster with HD channels.
