Should we raise to this unethical business practice?

Please check the image of the replaced Dolby enabled HD STB. The sound setting option has PCM, DD and DD+ through HDMI only. Though it is very hard to distinguish between sound signatures of these codecs. I could not be able to explore full fledged because of my working hours. I will thoroughly check on weekends. But most noticeable part is my sound bar is not dolby enabled. Still i get the sound from STB when it is in Dolby mode. Need to explore this thoroughly.

Just curious they gave you a new box or refurbished one and what model is that?

Same doubt for me bro, USB port, sat in, hdmi port looks like rusting, may be they given refurbished box,

@sanjudat bro, open tataplay app --> my account --> scroll down -> device and warranty details -> device details -> select stb warranty -> it's showing stb warranty details, check they mentioned 1 year warranty or not

@Abhinav @Vicky After you have highlighted worn-out issue, I have checked it once again. I agree with you. I hardly get time back home to check all these kinds of stuff minutely. I have only time on weekends. But I have checked the image closely and sent a mail to CEO with the image. They installed it on weekdays when I was not at home. Regarding warranty, yes it is showing a year's coverage. But, I need to match the STB box number with the number mentioned in my account. Thanks bro for highlighting the issue. Also, I have noticed that there is hardly any change when the sound settings are switched from PCM to DD/DD+. Can you help me to understand if DD passes through HDMI ARC to a non-Dolby audio system?
I am fed up with this issue. Let's see what will be there actions, else will change to Airtel.

@Abhinav @Vicky I have raised the issue of a refurbished box with Tata Play. They have replaced it with a brand new Tata Sky HD STB. It has a similar look apart from Tata Sky branding on it. It is enabled with Dolby audio features. But, for the members of DDTH family, I am raising an "Alert" for the people who are interested in buying Tata Play products. I got this information from the technician.

1. Tata Play HD STB does not have Dolby audio features. The company is still selling these boxes to customers. Hardly, anyone raises the issue. If so, they narrate the "Auto" sound story.

2. New Tata Play Binge boxes have lagging issues. Unlike, Tata Sky binge boxes, Tata Play boxes are of inferior quality and have buffering issues. As per the technician, they receive lots of complaints about the Tata Play binge box nowadays.

3. He also suggested not to pay online but rather contact nearby retailers for DTH. Check the box before paying for it and then allow installation.

So friends, keep your eyes open and check the product thoroughly before paying for it.

1. yup mine new purchased hd box also don't have dolby audio but i won't complain for it because i don't have a dobly audio supported tv my music system supports dolby audio but i still won't complain because tata play is giving us jingala offers so much channels for 1 ruppee no other dth is giving these offers and dhamaka offers also i have also got my tp stb in dhamaka offer when a company is giving us hd stb for free (in my case i got 3000 cashback offer in 1900) and jingala offers it is unfair to complaint about these things unless a big issue subscribers should compromise these little things if everyone starts doing this then how would this company survive in this declining market if everyone does the same thing then we may not get offers like we are getting nowdays 3. yes it is best to buy dth offline i also bought it offline and got cheaper than online. 2. senior member's correct me i am wrong airtel xstream is also laggy this issue is not only in tp.
