Yesterday I went to recharge my adtv account, i met the tata sky sales guy and he was going gaga about tata sky. I said adtv added 7 channels out of promised 12 in few days where are your 20 channels which u promised a month back. He said the migration is over just wait it ll be added. I was like we are hearing this from past one month

Channels may add during IPL as well. But there is big impact of any event. Like IPL, WC Cricket, FIFA WC etc. simply because availability of sony six is what drives the viewership for IPL and availability of SS drives during WC. Now when driving factor is general channels, more channels, HD channels, regional channels, they add more such channels. There is nothing called space issue, migration etc. Everything is market driven. Just assume if dish tv has dolby sound, dvr, great interface, great website etc along with the number of hd and non hd channels they have today, will you and I not shift to dish tv? Will then not Tata Sky be forced to provide more channels? Can we not understand that no space crunch can be there from 2009 to 2015 all the time. It is just that without adding channels also they have equal market impact because of other attributes they have. When major parameter of their growth will be channel addition, then they will fight with govt, go to SC but surely add channels. In India different paramter drives market for different DTHs. e.g. for dish tv it is content, for tata sky it is quality and both of them do not care about other factors. Otherwise I don't what stops adtv to at least sort out their logo issue which sits on face of news anchors on news channels and hides scores on sports channels.

Friend...tell me 0+100 is bigger or 100+1? I still wait for music channel, hd channel addition for years...2 years on an average after launch. What I all the time talk and read is i do not have space...if you do not have ink in pen will somebody award you an IAS selection? Dish tv has 43 channels and after crying on every addition tata sky has 25. Which means 72% more channels than tata sky. I do not have 9x jalwa, mastiii, 9xo, history hd and numerous more...i too pay 7k for dvr and per month around similar amount.

if i don't have a ink in a pen thn there will a chance for IAS selection too if exam pattern will be ONLINE EXAM

dish tv don't have Dolby digital sound, epic, M tunes, headlines today and much more.. same thing is with other dths also.. Every Dth can't be a boss in every genre.. you have to compromise... you'll not get all things together in one dth.. some dth are number one in channel count.. others are number one in PQ n AQ. Some are better in packs while some are better in Customer Care department

Yes, TS had added a bunch of chnls over the past few months, but they were so far behind every other DTH, that they had to do add some..

Even after addition, now other DTH have again moved ahead.... and TS have been caught chasing them again. Its a vicious circle, if u r behind a race, ull always keep on chasing.. :nj
