well, i don't think you can even add the channels in latest version. as it is locked with one sat and it will not search for other sat channels. for technical changes they may do software upgrade...

TataSky plans to get 8-10 TPs on GSAT 10 hyahyahyahyahyahya

Tata Sky had so far carried 200 channels on the Insat 4A satellite with 12 transponders. The additional transponders, expected to number 8-10, on the new satellite, will be able to carry 100 to 180 channels, depending on the compression rates at which the channels are beamed back (one transponder can carry 20 standard definition channels or 10-11 high definition channels).

100-180 bapre too much. i need only 40-45 SD channels which i will be more than happy.

Tata Sky will now be able to pump in loads of Actve content and regional channels with its new satellite launch. Tata Sky can now focus on regional markets and provide a wide range of regional channels. This will also be highly beneficial to Tamil Nadu and Kerala viewers as Tata Sky can now add lots of South channels. The number of value added services too will go up. Interactive services like Actve games provide personal entertainment and Actve Darshan provides unique devotional content which is not available in cable tv. More such fun, entertaining and devotional Actve channels can be expected in Tata Sky soon.
