How many more channels they can add in mpeg4 ?

presently they can add 10 to 15 channels in mpeg4 but they will add only when stb replacement done. Then existing channels can be move on mpeg4 of that region. Generally 1 mpeg2 = 2 mpeg4

I called CC but his reply was that they have no information of any such scheme of replacing MPEG 2 Boxes free of cost.

Another good news but for south people, from sept onward south channel will be shifted in mpeg4 and new south channels will be added in that space. Currently stb's are replacing in south and some state of north so hindi, kannada and marathi user will get replacemet after this [ts expecting all south replacement by november] so in phase 1 and 2nd for south and north then 3rd for hindi, kannada and marathi and in last 4th they will call to deactive user to replace stb with mpeg4 and get some offer[he not tell me, what offer.]

Very promising plan.
1. Identify low penetration region.
2. Convert all it's channels to MPEG4 in relatively less efforts.
3. Double the capacity.
4. Launch new channels and increase penetration.
5. Repeat.

@Armaan ,called CC in fact they don't have any idea regarding swapping of boxes rather the lady on the other end asked me whether to transfer the call to the special team dealing with this issue. I turned down her request since my HD + box supports MPEG 4 channels. You can contact the special team thru the CC.
