Yes after tonight's migration , Kannada will be done,
With Tamil & Malayalam.
Yes. Their next target is Kannada , it appears. In south Telugu only is left with more than half of the channels were migrated already. I think replacement of STBs be near completion in AP.

I heard that Ten HD is going to get added to TS platform on 8th October, 2013!
Subscribers with Mega HD pack will get the channel freely and other who has TEN Pack will get that HD channel.
I just heard it from someone who responds on tata sky customer page (unofficial page) on facebook and usually they provide correct information.

The news is posted first on this forum. All fb pages providing dth updates are copy pasting updates from this forum. You should check this site regularly to get those updates.

There is no news from Tata Sky about change to Mpeg4 format. I checked with tatasky(TS). TS is looking for ways to put extra channels on their platform. It can be achieved either by renting out more transponders on a satellite or compress the broadcast by changing format to mpeg4. Some time back there was news that TS is trying to get some transponder on GSAT. But it looks ISRO is delaying the process due do technical difficulties . Since the satellite is exactly in the same geo stationery orbit @INSAT4A 83*east it can be easily done without doing any change of dish alignment. This will be best solution for TS. Otherwise they have left with no other option but to go for format changing. Either way it is an expensive proposition. But I am sure they will NEVER charge the customer extra for that. They will lose customers. I will be the first to discontinue.

How is the PQ of migrated chs now? Is it same as before or changed ?
Picture will be clear after full migration is over.
BTW TS should not reduce PQ in a rush to increase chs.
