But why SD pvr boxes are incompatible with new sat? as per my knowledge Tata sky + i.e. sdpvr boxes are Mpeg4...

Insat 4a=36 Mhz but Asiasat 7/8= 54 Mhz

yeah SD PVR is also Mpeg4, so it will be some other issue.

Actually Tata sky wants upgrde their all subscribers to HD, because the fact is 'The DTH which will have maximum HD subscribers, will be the in the best position in future'. And Tata sky subscribers having sdpvr(costly) don't want to change their all on a sudden. So offering to upgrade, , now its clear... Good business strategy.

why they r not giving this offer 2 normal sd subscribers ?
