TataSky is migrating to 105.5°E AsiaSat 7 & 8 with 24 TPs 16TPs in one sat and 8 in another sat

Asiasat 8 Ku Band Tps bandwidth 54MHz
Asiasat 7 Ku Band Tps bandwidth also 54MHz
Asia sat 7 and 8 Advance Satellite

Insat 4a only 36MHz Bandwidth

If 36 MHz One Tp Cary Upto 55-57 SD Mpeg4 Channel Then
54MHz One Tp can Cary Upto 75+ SD Mpeg 4 Channel with Advance Broadcast.

Videocon D2h Have 54MHz with only 10tp so they added 500+ channel with Advance Broadcast....

When tatasky Have 54MHz with 24 Tps then tatasky will Bang Bang.

I think TS will use 16 Tp's from AS 8 & AS 7 Tp's will be as backup.

Good news that Tatasky is adding channels..(For Back Up) just make a calculations how many
TPs are in those 2 satellites .

Asiasat 7 have 17 ku band Transponders for 3
Beams : East Asia beam, South Asia beam
and one steerable beam .54 Mhz , 150 watts,

Asiasat 8 have
24 Ku band 54 MHz 4 beams : China beam,
India beam, Middle East beam and South East
Asia beam 210 watts
How many TP may be for Indian Beam ?

bro..these satellites have inter changable facility. There is no fixed tps for certain beam. Based on the requirement, they will allot tps to certain beam

If they want they can allow all 24 Tp's of AS 8 to India beam,
Same is with AS 7.
