Popular search engine Google had announced in its recent annual report that the most searched terms in the Tamil version of their service were Thuppakki, Billa 2 and Nanban.

They also went on to say that in the Kovai and Chennai region, along with a majority of TN, most of the queries have been movie related searches, Ajith and Vijay starrers have been the most wanted in 2012.

Vijay’s ‘Thuppakki’ has been nominated in ten categories at the SIIMA (South Indian International Movie Awards) this year. The award function will take place on September 12 and 13 in Sharjah.

In order to celebrate the centenary year of Indian cinema, a grand film festival is being organized in Russia. Several best films that were made in India will be screened in this film fest and three Tamil movies have been selected. The three films that will be screened at this film fest are Kamal Haasan’s Vettaiyadu Vilayadu, Dhanush’s Aadukalam and Vijay’s Thuppaki.

It may be mentioned here that Vijay’s Kavalan was screened at the Shanghai Film Festival and received rave response there last year. Kamal, Vijay and Dhanush’s fans are happy with this honour for their stars and are celebrating it in a big way.
