In order to implement the Cable Act of India properly in the state, DD Kendra needs help from members of the civil society. It is alleged that the cable operators do not transmit any channel on the cable service in the same frequency band which Doordarshan terrestrial channels are transmitted.

DD asks cable operators to show its channels on prime band | Business Standard

Already SCV showing blank channels in the place of Chennai DD channels.. who is controlling / noticing this?

:wall :wall Only god has to save Chennai.

Any update on this . (TRAI pulls up MSOs and broadcasters in Chennai )

Yes'day my Cable operator came for to collect monthly subscription.
When asked about Arasu cable, he told lot of pressure is there to connect to arasu analog, but he yet to connect it as arasu don't have digital license. Arasu forcing LCO to buy STBs ,but there is no actual connection to that one. LCO just buy it and hold it ,so that Arasu wil tell , n number of STBs already sold out, pls. give Digital license to central govt. If LCO connects arasu analog, LCOs has to provide two lines , one for Arasu analog and another for SCV Digital.
Hence he told he not interested , refusing to connect Arasu. But because of Pressure he can connect to arasu at any time. Arasu also providing same channel list of SCV in analog. So there is no use of connecting it.
When asked abt analog continuation in chennai, he told case going on in high court , and till that time analog wil continue.
Also told that he going to add two more channels (PT and Polimer by month end) , wil get signal from some DTH. Already giving one cricket channel from SCV stb.

Yes, we want CAS out, either DAS or no-DAS.

What is the difference between CAS and DAS I think CAS is conditional acess system And other is digital acess system Whats there main difference

In CAS , FTA channels showed in analog and to watch Pay channels we need to buy STB.
In chennai, SCV dominates and showing most SUN network channels, and some popular FTA channels are not showing. we don't have any other MSO option and also need to pay more money for to view pay channels. So most peoples stick with SCV.
CAS is seen no where in india , and in chennai it is there for last 12 years.

I think Chennai is always preferred for such experiments. But now it seems, govt forgot that experiment is now over.

Analogue = All channels available unencrypted and not more channels (Around 70) can be shown in viewable good quality.

CAS (Conditional access system) = FTA channels are available in analogue and Pay channels are encrypted and can be viewed only through STB, same limitation as Analogue and not many channels (Around 70) can be viewed in good quality. So without STB people can still view FTA channels if they are available in unencrypted format.

DAS (Digital Access Service) = Both FTA and Pay channels encrypted and cant be viewed without an STB, can view more than 500 channels in good quality as they would be compressed with digital system hence more channels with good quality.
