For me on my Sony home theatre, Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus doesn't have any difference. All the HD channels I have subscribed have true Dolby Digital Plus sound except this Gemini HD. We don't want to lose the 5.1 channel sound on other channels by selecting stereo option. As you said, there are some HD channels that doesn't have 5.1 output like Sony Six HD. But we don't have an issue like this on those channels. So, they must fix it.

The issue has been fixed. I just got a call from Airtel. I checked it and it's fine now.

fine means what??Is DD sound coming perfectly as other HD channels giving??I mean Is sound coming in all speakers with perfect surround??

I don't think they are transmitting true HD sound. It's like Sony Six. Sound comes in all the speakers, but it's not true 5.1. But at least the volume issue is fixed.
 
Breaking news. Airtel fixed the audio issue guys. It's now true Dolby Digital Plus audio on Gemini HD. I love airtel.
 
Audio issue is back with a bang. None of the speakers are transmitting sound except center and woofer
