Airtel always my favourite...No such DTH can give base pack and channels in low price

Think airtel is taking a very interesting stance... DTH is only a part of this... With competition on broadband and data services heating up, migration to jiotv and the jio internet services will be a real challenge... not only for DTH biz but broadband and data biz too....

Have been a airtel user for the best part of a decade and the experience has been very good and would hate to see them lose out other players...

The addict in me prevents me letting go of the sports and sports select channels. I have already requested customercare to keep sports HD channels active and have ensured balance in my account for that.

A part of me wishes that they had just increased the tariff with an option to opt out of packages for the customer and put the blame squarely on star for it..

If they are taking this stance to ensure there is no alarming price increase for the customer (as customercare told me) it is commendable...

Exactly bro. I was thinking about the same too. Specially STAR network is always hungry for TRP and with so much investment in IPL, they cannot let their current TRP dip in BARC ratings which would dirrctly affect the advertisement revenue which is the most important factor for recovering the invested money back.

Instead of dip you will see huge jump in TRP because of IPL from next month, I am not sure about how trp is measured but it is almost confirm that there is no connection between removal of ch from base pack with trp.

Even though largest MSO does not offer Star network, star still manage to rule top 5. and in top 5 chs 2 are from Star, and one each from Sony, Zee & Colors. This proves Star's influence
