when rdtv updates software for recording?

when rdtv updates software for recording? there is a usb slot at back side of rdtv. but it is useless till. is there any software available which turns rdtv stb into dvr box?
 
currently no software available which turns rdtv stv in dvr box

no software updates done for any boxes from quiet some time...............
