It's Star News, NDTV became the sole news content provider and producer for India’s first 24-hour news channel called Star News. Star News now became ABP News.
In 1980, CNN became the first 24-hours news channel in whole world.

Star News was owned and operated by NDTV then.
Later in 2003 they launched NDTV India and 24x7 too as Hindi and English channels respectively.
They will very strong news network then unlike their current situation.

In 2003, the contract with NDTV ended and STAR decided to run the channel on its own. However, the government introduced a guideline capping foreign equity in the News business to 26%. STAR then entered into a joint venture with the Ananda Bazar Patrika group to form a company called Media Content and Communications Services Pvt. Ltd. (MCCS) which ran the channel STAR News. STAR owned 26% in this joint venture while the Ananda Bazar Patrika group owned 74%.

Yes, ABP group acquired it and renamed. Before that also ABP group had shares on Star News.
Btw, in 2003 itself the contract with NDTV ended and Star decided to run the channel on its own. It wasn't much successful then.

How was Star News? Pro liberal or pro-right wing like Fox News? As a kid didn't knew much about politics.
