Breaking Zee Punjabi set to launch on 13 January, 2020

I have one doubt in my mind.
Zee Punjabi will be Available on DD Free Dish, but it will be available on other DTHs at a rate of Rs.3 per month. But why? Will it not be a "free to air" channel?

It's not mandatory for channels available in ddfd to be fta. Pay channels can buy slot in it.

No channel from a big network (whether on DDFD or not) is ever a free channel on cable and satellite platforms. Only small networks like SABGroup and Enterr10 can have FTA channels.

Note: This was not necessarily true before the TRAI regulations in January.

Then why were some Hindi channels like Zee Anmol, Sony Wah Star Utsav etc removied from DDFD.

big magic is still there on ddfd but it is not fta. it is priced 0.1 rs. These channels were removed to push the audience to other dth platforms (remember zee anmol promo)
