People has their own favorites, Some like Sony or Some Zee, and some hate Zee or some hate Sony. They won't switch any branding for now.

IMO, Both brands Sony & Zee will run parallelly (atleast for few years) , Just like Star & UTV brands, They will also keep their channel packs separate.
They will share content like movies and also show programs ads of eachother. This is how they will continue generating revenues from both the brand-names.

They can become a urban brand. Bring Korean, Japanese, Arabic and other Asian countries in Hindi. I even want English shows dubbed in Hindi and air on this channel. It can be a game changer. Those who want escape from saas baahu channels can watch this channel.
But Zindagi was a failed experiment. They will not be much enthusiastic about the idea.
Both the networks are operating many well established paid and fta channels, they should preserve the individual identity of their channels because each of these channels have their own fan base . Rebranding or shifting of contents from one to other might create big disorder. They should merge genere where one brand is strong and other is having minimal or no presence like sports and kids, where sony is a gaint and zee is missing
I agree but I feel people have stopped consuming &TV as a brand. They need to do something about it.

This is a wrong assumption. People like what's on these channels not the channels itself. While some enjoys Big Boss on Colors. Same also enjoys KBC on Sony. And DID on Zee.

Yeah but &TV had tried with good reality shows. But it doesn't work due to channel reach. They do a lot of promotion and stuff but it doesn't work.

Star bharat has same story.
E.g. If Tera mera sath rahe was telecasted on star plus it would've got 3+ ratings easily. But on star bharat it can't cross 0.7.

What you're saying applies to popular channels like Star Plus, Zee Tv, Sony TV, Colors.

If they go with amazon. Then the merge will be useless. Sony wants content to be big digital giant. With IPL they can easily sit at no.1 but if they tie up with amazon what's the use for future companies growth.
They have already tied up with Amazon for live tv section in Fire stick. I think Amazon might tieup with them for add on/partner apps (launched now) in Prime Video.

I have never watched &TV since beginning. So can't comment on that. Star Bharat is a lost cause. They went from being a fresh urban centric channel to a rural lost cause channel. It's not that the audience left them. It's Star who pushed audience away with a terrible rebranding. I recall watching it over Star Plus during the time. It first rebranded.
