Bro i think goldmines is behind this coz goldmines small budget films back on sony if zee-sony merged goldmines effect badly also I think the merger will be called off soon.

I think Goldmines not interested on these things because still they are getting some small production house movies from South.

Even zee and RIL merge would have seen same fate. Sony,zee and Disney star are top 3 media in terms of market share and revenue (excluding network 18 as a whole )
So any consolidation in them is a definite threat to competition.
Only if RIL manages to merge tv18 and network 18 can then the Sony and zee merge can be viewed as non threat.
Or either RIL needs to merge with sun to get the 3rd big spot.
