Discovery India has joined hands with the United Nations in India and NITI Aayog to launch #BharatKeMahaveer which will celebrate Indians who have shown extraordinary kindness by extending a helping hand at the time of the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis.
The campaign will have a three-part documentary Bharat Ke Mahaveer air on the Discovery channel and also stream on Discovery Plus in the month of November. The documentary will celebrate the actions of 12 champions across India showcasing India’s spirit of solidarity and unity.

Speaking about the initiative, Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, said, “Throughout this global crisis, we have seen countless stories of individuals across the country who have gone beyond their call of duty. Even in the Aspirational Districts, despite facing greater developmental challenges, people came forward in a tremendous display of humanity. We are happy to have come together with Discovery and the UN in India for this initiative to recognize these stories”.
Dia Mirza and Sonu Sood will co-host the series with the first Phase of Bharat Ke Mahaveer to commence in November. The show has already attracted advertisers with Amazon, Mi TV, Dell, Amul, Kia Sonet, Hicks, Hot Water Bottle among them.
