First month of the new year was nice for Tata Sky viewers, as the operator added the highest number of channels and was most active compared to other DTH operators. Find out every major activity from Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV, Dish TV, d2h and Sun Direct in the month of January 2020 in this exclusive article.

Tata Sky

Tata Sky added 7 broadcaster channels on its platform including Zee Punjabi, Samay, Shemaroo MarathiBana, Studio One+, Zee Thirai, Twenty Four and Surya Bhojpuri. The operator also dropped 2 devotional channels- Sai TV and Surya Bhakti.

This month the DTH operator launched its first Android TV set-top box called Tata Sky Binge+ at a price of Rs 5,999. Users who are willing to upgrade to this box will get Rs 1,000 cashback in their Tata Sky account. The operator also dropped the price of its HD box from Rs 1,499 to Rs 1,399. After decreasing the price for new HD connection, Tata Sky reduced the referral reward from Rs 300 to Rs 200.

For new acquisitions from DAS 3 & DAS 4 markets, Tata Sky launched annual Hindi Value pack for the price of Rs 2,299. It has also added 8 new commands in its WhatsApp service to make account modifications easier and give quick access to troubleshooting steps, offers, etc.

Airtel Digital TV

Airtel Digital TV (ADTV) has added 4 satellite channels this month while 4 channels were also removed by the DTH operator. Nandighosha, Zee Thirai, Zee Punjabi and Power TV are the channels added while channels which are discontinued include Superhit TV, News World India, Bangla Naaptol and India Watch.

Dish TV and D2H

Twenty Four, Zee Thirai and Nandighosha satellite channels were added by D2H. Dish TV dropped Housefull Movies and added 4 channels namely Twenty Four, Zee Punjabi, Zee Thirai and Nandighosha. Both of these operators are offering Rs 10 cashback upon installing their Watcho app.

Sun Direct

Sun Direct was least active this month. It added News J channel and dropped News World Odisha channel. The operator launched Pongal special offer for inactive subscribers in which it is providing up to 4 to 9 months of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam DPO 1 packs for free on recharging with more than Rs 497.
