InDigital introduces Android set-top box NXTConnect and linear TV dongle NXTGo

Following the lead of major DTH and Cable operators, Indigital has launched its first Android TV box called ‘NXTConnect’ and a dongle ‘NXTGo’ for both existing and new customers in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai regions. 

The NXTConnect set-top box is not hybrid like we have seen from other operators, it will only allow users to access OTT content, apps, games, etc. online while for usual linear TV channels you have to use the NXTGo dongle. 

Some of the supported OTT apps include Zee5, Sony LIV, Voot Select, Shemaroo Me, Eros Now, Epic ON, Hotstar, Hungama Play & Music, Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Prime Music. It is not Netflix certified hence Netflix can’t be installed. 

It’s worth noting that both the set-top box and the dongle only have HDMI output so it won’t work with old CRT televisions. Internet connection is required for accessing online apps and customers can use either wired or WiFi connection.

New Connection Charges

As an introductory offer InDigital is providing both NXTConnect and NXTGo devices at a price of Rs 1,499. The customers will also get a free complimentary 1-month subscription to basic Cable TV pack worth Rs 130 and NXTOTT1 pack worth Rs 279. 

OTT Package Details

The company has launched 4 plans for this service. NXTOTT1 is the cheapest one for Rs 279 per month (Rs 1864 annually) and offers a premium subscription to SonyLIV, ZEE5, Amazon Prime and Voot Select. 

NXTOTT2 plan costs Rs 338 monthly (Rs 2542 annually) and includes subscription to 9 apps namely SonyLIV, ZEE5, Amazon Prime, Voot Select, Hungama Play, Hungama Music, ShemarooMe, Epic ON and Eros Now. 

NXTOTT3 is an annual only plan for Rs 3303 that includes all apps of NXTOTT2 and an additional Disney+ Hotstar subscription. Lastly, NXTOTT4 priced at Rs 2625 provides membership to Zee5, Amazon Prime, Voot Select, Disney+ Hotstar and SonyLIV. 

OTT Subscription Details

Active Indigital linear TV connection with minimum of Rs 130 NCF (additional 18% taxes) is necessary to watch OTT services of NXTConnect. On subscribing to any of the above-mentioned packs, membership will be activated on the registered mobile number and customers will receive login credentials for their apps via SMS on their RMN within an hour. 

Using these credentials they can access the OTT services on any device. If there is already an existing subscription on the same mobile number, then the OTT service subscribed later through NXTDigital will start after the expiry of the existing subscription.
