Regional broadcaster Mavis Satcom Limited has today become the first pay broadcaster to publish its revised Reference Interconnect Offer (RIO) in line with Tariff Order 2020.

Given the small number of a-la-carte offerings and bouquet offerings, the broadcaster didn’t have to make any major changes to its Reference Interconnect Offer.

Mavis Satcom has left the price of its a-la-carte channels untouched while it has had to revise its bouquet price to make it compliant with the new twin conditions for bouquet formation.

It’s older bouquet satisfied only one of the twin conditions as the discount on the bouquet was higher. The broadcaster has complied with the regulator’s rule for the sum of a-la-carte channels in a bouquet to not exceed 1.5 times the rate of the bouquet by marginally increasing the bouquet price from Rs 6 to Rs 8.

The new rates will come into effect from 1 March 2020. At the time of publishing, none of the other pay broadcasters have declared their revised RIOs. The clock is ticking with another 10 hours left for the deadline set by TRAI to expire.
