The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) today updated its permitted satellite TV channel database with the renaming of Polimer Media Networks ‘News J’ TV channel license.
The Ministry has greenlighted Polimer Media Network to launch ‘Polimer Samachar’ using the TV channel license it owns and was earlier named as ‘News J’.
Polimer Media Private Limited was initially granted the TV channel license by MIB on 11th September 2012 in the ‘NEWS’ category with permission to broadcast in Kannada along with uplinking and downlinking permission. The TV license was initially named ‘Polimer Kannada’ before being renamed as “News J,’ and subsequently ‘Polimer Samachar’.
The broadcaster currently holds four TV channel licenses namely ‘Polimer’, ‘Polimer News’, ‘Jothi TV’, and “Polimer Samachar’.
Notably, Chennai headquartered Mantaro Network which runs Tamil News channel ‘News J’ not so long ago bagged a fresh TV channel license from MIB named ‘News J2‘.

MIB additionally has updated its permitted satellite TV channel database with the renaming of IN10 Media’s ‘Epic Plus’ TV channel license as ‘Gubbare’. The license is believed to have been renamed last year although the MIB has belatedly update it’s database.
