The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) today updated its permitted satellite TV channel database with the renaming of Independent News Service Private Limited’s ‘India TV Wiz’ TV channel license.

The Ministry has cleared the decks for Rajat Sharma led India TV to launch India TV Prime HD. The TV channel license is part of the ‘NEWS’ category with uplinking and downlinking permission in English and Hindi language.

Independent News Service was initially granted the TV channel license on 8th November 2009. The channel has permission to operate from Intelsat-20. The broadcaster currently holds two TV channel license namely ‘India TV’ and ‘India TV Prime HD’.

In other related news, MIB recently updated its cancelled TV channels database with the cancellation of Living Entertainment Enterprises Private Limited’s ‘Living Travelz‘ satellite TV channel license.
