The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has given its nod to the launch of Bflix+ Movies Pen Studios along with Pop Corn Movies according to the updated database of permitted satellite TV channels. The Ministry has separately cancelled the satellite TV licenses of defunct 9X0 and Athmeeyayathra TV.
The Ministry has approved the renaming of Media Network Broadcasting’s ‘HOLIDAYZ’ to ‘Bflix+ Movies Pen Studios’. The license is indirectly owned by PEN Studios which is downlinked from GSAT-30.

Apart from that Ministry has approved the license of ‘Popcorn Movies’ of Atiya Healthcare Private Limited. The aforesaid new TV license was granted on 29th September 2020 and will be downlinked from GSAT-17 C Band. The channel has the permission to broadcast in all Indian languages.

Separately, the Ministry has today cancelled the license of 9XO and Athmeeyayathra TV which belonged to 9X Media and AY Foundation respectively. For the unaware, 9X Media had shutdown 9XO effective 31st May in view of the COVID-19 pandemic as part of its strategic business decisions.
In other news, the Ministry has recently renamed the license of ‘Awakening’ to ‘Public First’.
