MIB grants fresh satellite TV channel license to NKR TV, Prerna, Devam, Tribe TV, and 6 others

Viacom18 bags four TV license namely Pick-A-Trick, My Cam, Eco-Lution, and Connected from MIB.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has recently authorized four new satellite TV channel licenses to three separate companies. The authorization came over the last 90 days with NKR TV, Prerna, Devam, and Tribe TV bagging satellite TV channel licenses among others.

The Ministry on Wednesday granted TV license to DDNK Media Private Limited to operate a ‘NON-NEWS’ channel named ‘NKR TV’. The channel has authorization to operate in Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil languages and will use the services of Intelsat-17.

Kalyani Solvex Private Limited bagged a TV license from MIB on 17th June 2021 to operate a ‘NEWS’ category channel named ‘Tribe TV’. The channel has authorization to operate in Hindi, English and all other Indian schedule languages and will use the services of GSAT-17.

Cimco Projects bagged two fresh satellite TV licenses on 2nd July 2021. The company has got permission to operate ‘Prerna’ in the ‘NEWS’ category and ‘Devam’ in the ‘NON-NEWS’ category. Both the channels have permission to operate in Hindi, English and all other Indian schedule languages and will use the services of GSAT-17.

Cimco Projects also bagged a fresh satellite TV license on 21st May 2021. The company has got permission to operate ‘Voice of Indian People – VIP’ in the ‘NEWS’ category with permission to operate in Hindi, English and all other Indian schedule languages. The channel will also use the services of GSAT-17.

Viacom18 on 10th June 2021 bagged four fresh satellite TV licenses to operate ‘Connected’, ‘Eco-Lution’, ‘My Cam’, and ‘Pick-A-Trick’. The authorizations are in the ‘NON-NEWS’ category with permission to operate in English, Hindi and other Indian regional languages. The channels will use the service of Intelsat-20.

BPL Media bagged a fresh satellite TV license on 12th April 2021 to operate ‘Punjabi Hits’ in the ‘NON-NEWS’ category. The channel has permission to operate in Hindi, Punjabi, and all other Indian schedule languages and will use the services of GSAT-17.
