MIB issues advisory on inclusion of Sansad TV and Sansad TV HD in list of mandatory channels
MIB advises Cable operators and MSO to continue carrying all mandatory Channels after recent change of name of Lok Sabha Television Channel and Rajya Sabha Television Channel.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) today issued an advisory on changing names of the existing Lok Sabha Television Channel and Rajya Sabha Television Channel. The Ministry had earlier changed the name of both the channels to Sansad TV – SD and Sansad TV HD respectively in the list of mandatory channels.
The Ministry had back in 2013 notified the list of channels that are to be mandatory carried by the MSOs and Cable Operators on their cable TV networks. The list was subsequently amended on 25th May 2015, 7th May 2019, and 15th November 2019 to include more channels.
“The Central Government vide S.O. 3792(E)- dated 15.09.2021 (copy enclosed) has substituted the entries at serial number 23 and 24 of Table – I in the s.o. 2693 (E) dated 05.09.2013,” said MIB in it’s advisory.

“All MSOs and Cable operators are accordingly advised to carry the mandatory channels appropriately in respective genre on their cable TV Networks’ Any violation of Section 8 of the Cable Act shall invite such action as provided in the Cab1e TV Act and the Rules framed thereunder as well as the terms and conditions stipulated in the MSO permission, as the case may be,” said MIB in its advisory.
