The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) in the recent past has renamed a few existing permitted satellite TV channel licenses paving way for Har Khabar, Gangaur, and News Hour in its permitted satellite TV channels repository.
Yash TV Entertainment Limited’s ‘Prerna’ TV channel license has been renamed as ‘Har Khabar’. The ‘News and Current Affairs’ category license has permission to broadcast in all Indian scheduled languages including English and Hindi. It was initially granted on 2nd July 2021 named ‘Prerna’.
Yash TV Entertainment Limited’s ‘Pan Asia TV Bangla’ TV channel license has also been renamed as ‘News Hour’. The ‘News and Current Affairs’ category license was initially granted on 21st May 2021 named ‘Voice of Indian People – VIP’ and subsequently renamed as ‘Pan Asia TV Bangla’.

Vision Corporation Limited’s ‘Housefull Movies’ TV channel license has also been renamed as ‘Gangaur’. The ‘Non-News and Current Affairs’ category license was initially granted on 31st March 2009 named ‘Vision TV Music’ and subsequently renamed as ‘Vision TV’.
Zee Entertainment’s ‘Zee Josh’ TV channel license has been renamed back to ‘Bog Magic’. The ‘Non-News and Current Affairs’ category license was initially granted on 18th September 2008 named ‘Big Magic’ and subsequently renamed as ‘Zee Magic’ and ‘Zee Josh’.
Apart from this the Ministry’s database now reflects Zee Entertainment’s ‘Living Foodz’ and ‘Big Ganga Talkies’ TV channel licenses renamed as ‘Zee Zest’ and ‘Zee Zest HD’ respectively. The changes probably took place back in 2020 although only recently included in the permitted satellite TV channels repository.
