The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) today updated it’s permitted satellite TV channel database with the renaming of News24 Broadcast owned satellite TV license named ‘JK Channel 24*7 News’. The broadcaster’s license is now named as ‘News 24 Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh’ signalling it’s intent to expand with a new regional Hindi news channel aimed at catering to Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
The license was initially granted to News 24 Broadcast on 21st September 2007 in the name of AAPNO 24 (Biz 24) post which subsequently it was renamed to JK Channel, JK Channel 24*7 News’, and now News 24 Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh.The license holds uplinking and downlinking permission from GSAT-30 in Hindi language.

The Ministry has also recently renamed Horizon Satellite Service Private Limited’s satellite TV channel license ‘Y TV’ to ‘DA News Plus’. MIB has also renamed Calcutta Television Network Private Limited’s TV license ‘CTVN AKD Rastrio’ as ‘AKD CN Rashtriya’
