The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) recently renamed the satellite TV license of Dharm Media Ventures Private Limited allowing the company to operate ‘V11’ channel on the license it owns. The Ministry today updated its permitted satellite TV channel database with the renamed TV license.

Dharm Media Ventures was in 2011 granted the TV license by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) to operate a Non-News channel in the name of ‘Dharm Sangeet’. The TV license was later renamed to make way for regional shopping channel ‘Naaptol Malaylam’.

The TV license has been renamed to ‘V11’ allowing Dharm Media Ventures to launch ‘V11’ through the license. The trademark for ‘V11’ was registered by Dharm Media Ventures in the first half of 2019.

The Ministry is also said to have recently reportedly cancelled the licenses of ‘NHK World TV’ and ‘NHK World Premium’. We await a confirmation from the Ministry’s end on the reported cancellation of the licenses.
