MIB grants TV license to Sidharth TV and Bharaat Today

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has approved 2 licenses in June and August.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has approved 2 licenses in June and August along with major changes to the uplinking/downlinking satellites of TV licenses and change of company names holding TV licenses. The two licenses granted are Sidharth TV and Bharaat Today.

Bharaat Today owned by Sahasra Television Pvt. Ltd. is a Telugu News channel which was granted permission on 26 June 2019. Sidharth TV owned by Sidharth Broadcasting Pvt. Ltd is a Odia GEC which was granted permission on 16 August. As on date, the total number of TV licenses granted stands at 915.

The ministry also updated its database with the name change of several companies holding licenses. Asianet Communications Private Limited is now Asia Star Communications Pvt Ltd. The license of Dhamaal, Dabangg, and Maiboli are now held by TV Vision Limited which were earlier in the name of three different companies.

A bunch of News18 channels which were held by Panorama Television are now held by TV 18 Broadcast Limited directly. Suvarna is also now held by Asia Star Communications Pvt Ltd. as opposed to earlier when it was held by Asianet News Network Pvt Ltd.

&flix, ANB News, Colors Bangla, Colors Gujarati, Colors Kannada, Colors Marathi, Colors Odia, ETV Abiruchi, ETV Abiruchi HD, ETV Cinema, ETV Cinema HD, ETV HD, ETV Life, ETV Life HD, ETV Plus HD, ETV Telugu, ETV Andhra Pradhesh, ETV Plus, ETV Telangana, Hawa Mahal, Kerala Vision, Manorama News Central, Manorama News North, Mazhavil Manorama, Mazhavil Manorama HD, MH One Prime, MH One Shraddha, MR TV, News1 India, AM Television, Odisha News, Saam TV, Sadhna Prime News, Shop CJ, Story City, Subharti, Sadhna Bhakti, Sadhna National, Sakshi, Sarv Dharm Sangam, The Q, Thendrel, Topper, Treble, Tehzeeb TV, Telugu Naaptol, Zee 24 Taas, Zee Hindustan, Zee Kannada, Zee Odisha, Zee Talkies, Zee Telugu, Zee 24 Ghanta, Zee Picchar, Music F, My Tube, Home Shop and IMIX have switched to INSAT 4-B from their current satellites.

NewsX, News 1st, Sadhna Bangla and Khushi have switched to GSAT 17. Naxatra News Jharkhand has switched over to GSAT 10. The teleport of a lot of Zee channels have also changed to Dish TV India Limited from Zee Entertainment.

DreamDTH had earlier reported the renaming of Zee Malayalam, Zee Malayalam HD, and Zee Magic license among 30 name changes, the approval of Vijay Music, B4U Hitz and B4U Plus among 15 new licenses, grant of license to Isaaq, Play My Movie among 3 licenses and the cancellation of 17 licenses including 4 licenses from Zee Media.
