Tata Play, the well-known DTH (Direct-to-Home) operator is now looking to expand its market with the introduction of Tata Play Binge – an OTT (Over-the-Top) aggregation service on Android TV and Fire TV Stick, that brings several popular OTT platforms under one subscription.

Earlier, DreamDTH had exclusively reported that Tata Play was testing its Binge app for Android TV, and the company has now officially released its app to download from app stores on both Android TV and Fire TV Stick platforms. The UI and features of the Binge app for Android TV and Fire TV Stick are the same as its mobile counterpart, making it easy for subscribers to access their favourite content across multiple devices.

Tata Play Binge is an all-in-one entertainment platform that allows subscribers to stream content from over 24 different OTT apps on their large screen with just one subscription. This includes popular apps such as Voot, Zee5, and Disney+ Hotstar, among others.

With the availability of the app on Android TV and Fire TV Stick, Tata Play Binge subscribers now have the flexibility to stream content on their television without the need for a Tata Play branded hardware. This means that customers don’t have to replace their existing set-top box (STB) with Binge+ or get a Binge edition Fire TV Stick on a rental basis. Instead, they can simply download the app on their Android TV or Fire TV Stick and enjoy their favourite shows and movies on the big screen.

They need to launch a standalone Android TV app like Airtel xstream has and allow 2 simultaneous streams. Limiting the big screen viewing only to the STB isn't appealing.
