DTH operator Tata Play has slashed its prices for new SD and HD connections booked online with effect from Thursday, July 14. The new prices are live on the company’s official website.
The price of High Definition (HD) connection is reduced by Rs 400 from Rs 1,699 to Rs 1,299 while the Standard Definition (SD) set-top box’s cost is dropped from Rs 1,499 to Rs 1,299. HD buyers can also get an additional discount of Rs 150 if they make their payment online after applying code “TPL150”.
It is the final cost for a connection and includes taxes, installation, STB, universal remote, HDMI or RCA cable, power adapter and outdoor unit (Dish antenna, LNB and coaxial cable). The customer only needs to recharge their Tata Play account and choose any package or channel to start viewing.
The company has kept new prices of both SD and HD connections equal in a bid to push the sales of HD set-top boxes. All new customers across the country are eligible to book their Tata Play connections at the new reduced prices.
This is a special offer only for new connection orders placed online through tataplay.com or Tata Play mobile app. Previously in April 2022, the company had reduced the cost of SD and HD connections by flat Rs 200.
For the unaware, the company is also running a scheme called ‘Damaka Offer’ where new customers can get HD or Binge+ box for free by paying Rs 4,000 or Rs 6,000 respectively at one instance while placing the order. The entire paid amount will be credited as Tata Play balance without deducting any equipment, installation charges.
