Direct to Home (DTH) operator Tata Sky had added the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) platform on its WhatsApp service that will allow Tata Sky customers to complete the payment through WhatsApp. The feature has been launched on Saturday onboard Tata Sky’s WhatsApp service which is live.
Tata Sky customers will get 2 links for recharging their Tata Sky account on replying ‘Recharge’ on the Tata Sky WhatsApp service. The first will be for the UPI link, the second one for the quick recharge, and the third one is a command to instantly credit 3 days emergency top-up in your account.
The quick link of WhatsApp will redirect you to any installed UPI app with the receiver’s UPI details pre-filled. You only need to put the desired recharge amount and proceed to pay. The required amount will be transferred from your bank account to the Tata Sky account. Tata Sky which has the minimum recharge amount set at Rs 50 is currently allowing recharges as low as Rs 1 through the UPI feature.
In other news, Tata Sky is now allowing customers to see RMN update instructions in Hindi on Home app. Starting 31st August, customers can manage their account at ease. A new update has also been pushed to Tata Sky Mobile app which has reduced the price of many TVODs which can be rented to watch on the Mobile app itself. A separate section dedicated to ‘Disney Movies’ has also been added onboard the Mobile app.
