ZEEL amends RIO to rename Ganga Biskope as Zee Biskope

Zee Entertainment on 11 December has issued a new Reference Interconnect Offer (RIO) in which it has officially renamed its upcoming Bhojpuri Movie channel Zee Biskope. The move comes a month after it had released new promos replacing Ganga Biskope with Zee Biskope.

The channel was earlier named Ganga Biskope and carried the same name when the new RIO containing it was published in October. The test signal of the channel had started in early November with Ganga Biskope name.

The broadcaster had in November released a new promo on its Big Ganga YouTube channel which carried the new name Zee Biskope. Days later, it registered the new name and logo with the trademark registry following which it applied for the renaming of its license.

The I&B Ministry seems to have quickly taken on record the name change following which ZEEL has on 11th December issued a new RIO containing the new name. The Ministry’s database is however yet to show the change. At the time of going to press, the EPG of the channel was yet to be renamed on C-Band.

Speaking on the launch, Zee Biskope said, “Now daily watch blockbuster Bhojpuri movie with full entertainment. Now every hour watch some blockbuster on Zee Biskope from 21st December.”

Zee Biskope, Bhojpuri’s most fearless channel is all set to hit TV screens from the 21st of this month. The channel will be initially available from the launch date on DD Free Dish after having paid Rs 2.74 crores (approx) for the slot. The channel’s tagline is “Aanthon Pahariya Loota Lahariya”. 

For pay-TV viewers, Zee Biskope will be available at a nominal rate of Rs 0.1 on a-la-carte subscription. The channel will be available in only four bouquets namely Zee Family Pack Hindi SD, Zee All-In-One Pack Hindi SD, Zee Family Pack Hindi HD, and Zee All-In-One Pack Hindi HD.
